The iconic Nuremore Hotel & Country Club in Monaghan, Ireland is set for a stunning revival
9th July, 2025 – The iconic Nuremore Hotel & Country Club is set for a stunning revival, as a Dubai-based McGettigan-led consortium proudly announces its acquisition of the beloved Monaghan landmark.
Long cherished for its scenic charm and warm Irish welcome, the Nuremore is about to enter an exciting new era — one that will breathe fresh energy into its storied walls, while honouring everything that made it special for generations of locals and guests.
An Irish Icon Reimagined
Work is already underway to transform the Nuremore into a world-class leisure, lifestyle, and hospitality destination. The ambitious redevelopment project will create over 100 new jobs by the end of the year and promises to restore the hotel as a cornerstone of the local community and a beacon for Irish tourism.
At the heart of the properties revival is a deep respect for heritage, a passion for people, and a bold vision for the future.
Dennis McGettigan, CEO of McGettigan Group, said “When the opportunity arose to acquire the Nuremore Hotel, I immediately recognised its immense potential. Our mission is to breathe new life into this historic property while honouring its legacy. With a strong focus on sustainability, we’re liaising closely with Monaghan County Council and aligning with Monaghan Tourism’s eco-friendly strategy to create something truly special.”
So What’s Coming?
- The newly reimagined Nuremore will feature:
- A signature McGettigan’s Pub
- A refreshed golf course, spa, and wellness retreat
- Upgraded leisure facilities, meeting spaces, and guest rooms
- Carefully curated experiences for locals, tourists, business travellers, corporate events and destination weddings.
Whether you're teeing off on a weekend break, planning a corporate retreat, or simply enjoying a relaxing escape in the countryside — the new Nuremore will offer something genuinely special.
For Locals, For Visitors, For Ireland
From wellness seekers and nature lovers to international tourists and event planners, the Nuremore’s revival will position it as a must-visit destination once again.
For Health & Safety reasons, the resort will temporarily remain closed to the public during redevelopment. Once renovations are complete in late 2025, the gates will open wide once again to welcome the community back into a revitalised local gem.
